The website was started in the fall of 2009 as a result of collaboration between Back on My Feet and the Moorestown Running Company, one of the South Jersey Running Companies. Like all good collaborations, it came out of a history of a growing relationship and the desire of the Moorestown Running Company to find ways to reach out and help the running community. The result is this website - where runners can buy shoes and know that 20% of their purchase is going to help support the cause of Back on My Feet.

The Start of a Great Relationship

In 2008, Back on My Feet approached the Moorestown Running Company about sponsoring free entries for the Scott Coffee Moorestown Rotary 8K. We coordinated with the Morestown Rotary and about a dozen runners came over from Philadelphia. Later that summer, Ed Scioli of the Moorestown Running Company participated in the first 20in24 Relay, helping his team to raise over $1,500 for Back on My Feet.

In 2009 our relationship expanded. 65 runners from Back on My Feet participated for free at the Scott Coffee Moorestown Rotary 8K. And the store and the club (the Moorestown Distance Running Project) that runs from the store fielded two teams for the 20in24 race, raising nearly $10,000 between them.

At the 2009 20in24 Relay, we started conversations about how we could help the mission of using running to help homeless people develop confidence, strength and self-esteem. The idea of creating a website to sell running shoes seemed like a natural.
